Health & nutrition disclaimer

Effective May 7, 2026

Read this before using Otty. Otty is a meal-planning tool, not a medical product. Anything in the app that looks like a number, a target, or a recommendation is an estimate — not personalised medical advice.

Estimated values, not exact measurements

Per-recipe nutrition numbers shown in Otty — including calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, and any other per-serving values — are estimates generated by artificial intelligence. Otty uses a large language model to approximate per-serving nutrition based on the recipe's listed ingredients and quantities. These values are not laboratory-analysed, not verified by a registered dietitian, and not guaranteed to be accurate. Real actual nutritional content can differ from the displayed values by 15% or more depending on ingredient brand and quality, exact portioning, cooking method, and other factors. AI estimates may also contain outright errors. Always check product packaging if precision matters for your situation.

Per-person suggested calorie and protein targets use a simplified formula (a variant of the Mifflin-St-Jeor equation) and assume a generally healthy individual. They do not account for individual medical conditions, medications, body composition, metabolic differences, pregnancy, growth, athletic training loads, or other personal factors. Per-person portion recommendations shown in the app are derived by dividing each person's meal-slot calorie allocation by the AI-estimated per-serving recipe calories — so they inherit all of the uncertainty above. Treat every number Otty shows you as a starting point you can adjust, not as a prescription, instruction, or recommendation from a qualified professional.

Consult a qualified professional

Consult a qualified physician, registered dietitian, or other licensed healthcare professional before starting any new diet, making significant changes to your eating habits, or relying on this app's targets. This is especially important if you:

Not medical or nutritional advice

Recipes, meal suggestions, calorie targets, protein targets, and any other output from Otty are not personalised medical or nutritional advice. The team behind Otty is not comprised of physicians, registered dietitians, or licensed nutrition professionals. Nothing in the app should be interpreted as a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or medical guidance of any kind.

Otty does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It is not a medical device, and it has not been evaluated, cleared, or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any equivalent regulatory body in any jurisdiction.

Allergen warnings are heuristic

Allergen warnings in the app are generated by automatic text matching against ingredient lists. They may miss allergens that appear under a different name, are hidden in compound ingredients (sauces, broths, mixes), are present in trace amounts, or arise from cross-contamination during preparation, packaging, or cooking.

Always read every ingredient label yourself if you have a serious or life-threatening allergy. Otty is not a substitute for careful label reading, asking food preparers about ingredients, or consulting an allergy specialist about cross-reactivity.

Your responsibility

By using Otty, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer and that you assume all responsibility for decisions you make about your diet, your health, and your wellbeing — and the diets, health, and wellbeing of any household members for whom you plan meals using the app.

If anything in the app conflicts with guidance you have received from a licensed healthcare professional, follow your healthcare professional. They know you; Otty does not.

Questions
